Take Action

National organizations, state groups and individuals across the country are taking action and calling on our leaders in Washington and in state capitols to make elections about voters and volunteers instead of big campaign contributors.

What can you do?

To continue our momentum and to ultimately achieve fundamental change, we must work together to raise awareness, demand change, and take action. You can make a big impact with a little effort – or a little more effort. Many will be signing and gathering signatures for the Fair Elections Now Petition, others will host events, and still others will write a letter to the editor or contact their senators.

Our Progress
  • Tell Congress: Pass Fair Elections

Factory farms give campaign cash and get special treatment. Big Oil has spent big to fight off regulation of its industry.

  • Become a Citizen Co-Sponsor

In order to get a Congress that’s accountable to us, not corporations and special interests, we need to change the big-money fundraising game members of Congress are forced to play. We can do this with the Fair Elections Now Act (S. 750, H.R. 1404).

Under Fair Elections, candidates can run competitive campaigns for office on a blend of Fair Elections funds and small dollar contributions. With Fair Elections, voters know that their elected officials are spending their time on important issues facing them, and not spending countless hours attending $1,000 a-plate fundraisers and dialing-for-dollars.

Please join us in signing on as a citizen co-sponsor of the the Fair Elections Now Act!

  • Voters First Pledge

Washington, D.C. is awash in money from big corporations and insider lobbyists. They use campaign cash to broker deregulation, tax breaks, and pork barrel projects that fatten their bottom line. We the people are left to clean up their mess and bail them out when they bring our economy to the brink of collapse. It’s time to end corporate funded elections and make our government of, by and for the people voted them into office.

The Voters First Pledge calls on all candidates for Congress to change our current system with one that watches out for every American instead of those who can afford to write maxed out campaign contributions. Help us let every candidate know that the Fair Elections Now Act should be their first priority if elected by adding your name to the Voters First Pledge Citizens’ Roll Call.
