The Founding Fathers in Ohio

100_1032In response to his new “cash for speaker” program offering VIP access for those able to bundle $100,000 for his campaign, David Donnelly told the Washington Times, "at the same time Rep. Boehner is asking lobbyists to bundle $100,000 for his 'cash for speaker' program, he's criticizing Democrats for failing to 'drain the swamp' in Washington. He needs to back up his rhetoric with action and help pass the Fair Elections Now Act."

To help him do that, we once again enlisted the Founding Fathers. George Washington and Ben Franklin headed to the southwest Ohio district of Rep. John Boehner to try to track him down and talk to his constituents about the Fair Elections Now Act.

Ben and George spent time in Hamilton and West Chester, Ohio on Sunday and Monday. They visited gold courses, tanning salons, a corn field, and a shopping center all on the lookout for John Boehner.

They caught up with one constituent on the golf course, and he didn't need any explanation as to how our pay-to-play political system works:

When they couldn't find him, the crew and a few of his constituents headed to his district office in West Chester, Ohio to see if constituents can get meetings without having to raise $100,000. Here's video of George and Ben before going into the office. Ben Franklin says, "We are here to get John Boehner to sign the Fair Elections Now Act so that way the only people he has to represent are the people he represents!"

The constituents that accompanied the duo into the office both filled out comment cards and asked for a meeting to talk Fair Elections. We'll see what happens.
